Sporting Achievements (2022-2023)

Here at Huntington Community Primary School, we strongly believe that children should  be given the opportunity to:

'play competitive games, modified where appropriate [for example, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, netball, rounders and tennis], and apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending.' (KS2 Curriculum)

Huntington is well known for its sporting prowess, and we were delighted to see over 70 children take part in the local Chester Mini Marathon on 3 Oct 2022, winning the MBNA participation trophy:

Our Y6 Touch Rugby squad won every game in the October 2022 area tournament at Chester Rugby Club.

Children who have a passion for Touch Rugby and a desire to compete were selected to take part in this competition. This competition promoted the enjoyment of the sport itself, whilst also encouraging skill development and a high quality of game play.

Our Girls Football Team have performed extremely well in recent years, and in 2022 were county runners-up! We have some very talented footballers at Huntington, who enjoy the thrill of an exciting match. This sport brings people together for a common purpose - having fun!

We also have a strong Netball Team, who will compete in the Chester league this year.

Our netball clubs (Y5 and Y6) have inclusive atmospheres and we encourage teamwork and cooperation.
