Spelling

Spelling begins in EYFS and Key Stage One with a clear focus on phonics (see below for the phases and sequence). 

As the children progress through school they will work on Common Exception Words for their particular age range (see below for full lists). Along side this, each class will teach spelling skills including prefixes, suffixes, homophones, in line with age related expectation and the National Curriculum.
