Our aim is to use high-quality texts to give pur Year 6 children meaningful reasons to write for different audiences and purposes.
Our approach
We follow Ready Steady Write from Literacy Counts to develop confident, independent and enthusiastic writers. Through high-quality texts, children explore ambitious vocabulary and learn to write for a range of audiences and purposes. Talk, modelling, shared writing and regular editing help children develop the skills to communicate their ideas clearly, accurately and creatively.

Core texts
