Chess Club

We have some amazing chess masters here at Huntington CP School! Every week, children in Years 4 and 5 get the opportunity to play chess against each other. At the end of every half term, we have a competition between the children for our Chess Champion Trophy, which may be taken home for the half term week. Chess is a wonderful mathematical tool that we use to teach problem-solving, forward-thinking, sequencing, and turn-taking – all part of our integrated curriculum that focusses on providing an all-round, practical education and is inspired by our motto, “Learn to Live and Live to Learn”.
